At Northeast Medical Practice, Dr. Berger offers comprehensive internal medicine care with a concentration on optimization of weight, longevity, and general health. Dr. Berger is dual boarded in internal medicine and obesity medicine, allowing him to address the root causes of chronic disease before symptoms manifest or to treat and potentially reverse these conditions. The care pathway begins with a comprehensive executive annual physical. During the visit, Dr. Berger provides as much time as needed to understand the patient’s history, needs, and health goals. This involves a thorough history, physical examination, and laboratory studies/imaging that go far beyond the traditional annual physical. Cutting edge cardiac risk and cancer screening technologies are utilized. Throughout the year, Dr. Berger provides patients direct access to him via cell phone, text, email, telemedicine, or in-office appointments. Visits with Dr. Berger, either virtually or in-person are unlimited. Should a patient visit the emergency department or be admitted to the hospital, Dr. Berger will interact directly with the hospital medical team to ensure the staff knows that patient’s history and reason for presenting to the hospital. Dr. Berger ensures that the patient/family are kept informed of the plan and progress and understand what the next steps may be. Dr. Berger will advocate on behalf of the patient and family for the best possible outcome. This can be an invaluable service when one is ill and in such a vulnerable situation. For those who elect to join the Premier Tier Plan, an unlimited number of house calls or visits to the patient’s workplace are available. This allows patients who are too ill to leave home to potentially avoid a trip to the ER and busy people not to leave work to attend a doctor’s appointment.
As a board-certified obesity medicine physician, Dr. Berger offers a comprehensive weight management program to all patients. He provides nutrition counseling, fitness consultation with an exercise physiologist, health coaching, and body composition analysis, as well as prescription of FDA-approved weight loss medications as needed, to help patients achieve their healthiest weight and thus optimize their overall health.
Dr. Berger is also an expert in aesthetic medicine. For additional fees, patients may elect to utilize treatments such as neurotoxin and dermal filler to optimize their appearance and boost confidence. Aesthetic treatments such as facial, microdermabrasion, and chemical peel are also offered by esthetician.
At NMP, we are in network with Medicare and most private health insurance. However, the annual membership allows Dr. Berger the freedom to evaluate and treat his patients in the best way possible without the constraints that may be imposed by insurance companies. Health plans may be billed when appropriate, but the patient will receive the care that Dr. Berger and the patient agree is best.
