History

North Valley Stream was first established in 1928 as part of Queens Borough. It was named after the Stream that flowed through the area and became known as a prosperous residential neighborhood comprised mainly of middle-class families. In 1943, it was joined with West Hempstead town and Woodmere village and thus came under Nassau County jurisdiction.
